Lost Tooth

Anja lost her first tooth!

She has been wiggling her bottom front two teeth for over 2 months...very cautiously!
On Tuesday the 6th, after we'd put the kids to bed, we were relaxing in the family room. Out walks Anja, quietly, a little blood on her fingers, and a small tooth in her hand. She was THRILLED!! That night she received a dollar for her tooth. She was so excited to show everyone what the tooth fairy had brought!

It FINALLY Snowed...and stuck to the ground...

Hooray!!! Last night, after the kids were in bed and I was resting...Anja came walking into my room at 8:30. I asked why she was still up and told her she needed to be asleep. Her response was, "But Mom, it's snowing outside and sticking to the ground!" We went and looked, sure enough...it was a winter wonderland for Portland. I got her back in bed and went to show Carter...who was also still awake (?) I showed him and he was ecstatic!

Needless to say...both kids were out of bed and I asked if they wanted to walk in the snow. Silly question! Of course they did. In their slippers, snow coats, and eventually gloves (b/c we ended up playing outside for 1 1/2 hours)...the kids had a great time in the snow.

I want to add that yes, I tried to get Fischer up...showed him the snow...he sleepily looked at it and informed me he wanted to go back to bed.
(he was very excited to see the snow this morning)

We had a great time in the snow...and then this morning the snow was still there...but the rains had come to early and made the roads slushy and too drivable for everyone. The kids are currently at school. (which we figured would happen...that's why we played in the snow last night and didn't get the kids to bed until 10pm!!)

I Tried...and Fischer's Clementine Story

I just tried to upload pictures and blogger wouldn't let me. Just wanted people to know that yes...I did make an effort. :)

Fischer just brought me a clementine and asked me to peel it. It's his second one.
I asked,"Did you eat your first one?
"Yes."
"Did you peel it yourself?"
"Yes."
"Did you leave a mess on the floor."
With a smirk..."Yes."
"Are you going to clean it up."
Total straight face..."No." Followed with, "Here Mom, will you please peel this orange for me?"
Of course, Fischer.... :)

Disneyland Trip

Yes, our Disneyland trip was in May...and I'm just posting three pictures today (November...pathetic). We had a fabulous time. Thanks Oma and Opa...we still talk about the trip.Fischer with Chip and Dale

Good Times at Easter

Yes, it's July 4th, and we are waiting for Clinton to come home to grill our family dinner. I've got everything ready and was talking to Holly (my sister) on the phone and we were talking about future plans. I mentioned something about how when move I'm gonna need to be better at blogging and that my father-in-law is probably going to give me a hard time because we've been living in Oregon near my family and I've done a horrible(!!) job at blogging. "Well, Arlen, to beat you to that point and to defend myself, I was decent at blogging when we moved to Oregon, but then I broke our camera and it took me a while to get back into uploading pictures to the computer. And I'm gonna be better a year before we move...starting now. So you won't be able to give me a hard time when we move to New Hampshire." :)

I have a friend who blogs once a week...she picks a day and sticks to the schedule. I need to figure out something like that. And yet it's hard, because it's summer time. A time for no schedules, no early mornings, no deadlines. We'll see! :)
