Haircut Day

While my friend Jana was over today, we started talking about cutting Anja's hair...what it might look like with a little trim.  Well, Jana gave me the haircut bug...because after she left and we ate lunch, I really wanted to cut Anja's hair.  So I took a picture to start (because this was her FIRST hair cut) and a picture to finish.  She sat so still...after I took a little more off than anticipated...but it still turned out cute.
And then I thought...I'll cut Carter's hair too and it was a big deal because he let me use the clippers on the side parts.  Check out all the hair on his shoulders...lots of hair!  This picture was taken right before I finished the final touches.
Anja before her first haircut.
Anja after her first haircut.  She said she wants to grow out her bangs...so we didn't cut them today.

Right after we finished.  She REALLY likes it!
Yeah--my 2 1/2 year old got her first haircut!

FLASH

Hi Friends--I'm Flash!  I like wearing my uniform and purchased it on my own at a yard sale on Saturday.  Since then...I waited patiently for my mom to wash my uniform so I could wear it.  I asked everyday..."Mom, have you washed my costume yet?"  Now that it's washed--I love to wear it...even outside!  Now now time to chat...I gotta jet!

Our Preschool Grad

Carter loves preschool and we love that he loves it so much.  My amazing friend Bryn is the teacher and she has done a fabulous job at creating a learning environment for the kids.  Tonight was the Preschool Program where Carter received a certificate and the kids put on a singing program for their families.  Below are videos of various portions of the program and pictures of our little graduate.
What FUN!  Carter graduates and then Clinton graduates!
(different programs but both are graduates!!)
We want to take a moment to spotlight Carter.  He is our firstborn and we are so pleased that he will lead the way for his younger siblings.  He has already done a great job--and it shows by the love he has for his family.  Carter enjoys playing with Anja; they run, laugh, pretend, and learn together.  Carter watches over Fischer, makes sure he is not putting bad things in his mouth, makes him laugh, and brings him toys to play with.  Most recently Carter has told his parents that he belongs to a family.  "We have a mother, father, and brothers and sisters." (well just one sister)  :)  He also says,  "I'm a good helper mom."...which should be followed with "by my own admission."  (...just like mom!)
We Love you CARTER!

Easter Photo Shoot

I begin the post with a picture of Carter from the egg hunt, mostly because he didn't want to smile at our little family picture on Easter.  We got the family shot, which we posted already.  So Carter--show us that cute smile we know you have.
Our little Anja on Easter
Our Baby Fischer on Easter.  I know I put one up like this...Jenni took lots of pictures of Fischer--and Fischer kept posing the exact same way--looking at him mommy...just smiling.

Random Days...

Fischer enjoys watching others play and eating his toys.  Fischer can now sit on his own!  Yeah for Fischer and he is crawling too.  Way faster than his two older siblings.  Go Fischer Go!

Alexis, Anja, and the Easter Bunny at the Shank Park Egg Hunt.  Carter has never been willing to take pictures next to characters...but Anja is the braver of the two (excluding Fischer who will smile for anyone).  Yeah for Anja!

Carter and his imagination take him lots of places.  On this particular day he was a cowboy, riding his horse, going camping.

A close up on our Easter Morning

Carter helping Fischer unwrap his gift.  He got a soft shape sorter.  A big hit with all the kids.
Anja LOVED her Minnie Mouse Umbrella!
Carter had fun hunting for eggs.  His were a bit harder to find, because we hid them in harder to find places.  We had fun watching him hunt for them.

Happy Easter!

Thanks to our talented friend Jenni--we got some pretty pictures outside!  It was cold.  We had such a fun Easter day with the kids.  Fun activities, talking and learning about Christ, the Resurrection, a wonderful dinner--a fabulous time.  Don't you just love the wind blowing in our faces? (for my family--do you remember my 10th grade photo...the 'wind blown' look?)
Fischer is 7.5 months old and is a wonderful boy.  We love his sweetness and happy personality.

Too Long

I took Fischer to his well-child check-up today.  Bright and early at 8:20AM...Carter, Anja, Fischer, and I were all waiting in the doctors office.  The nurse measured and weighed Fischer; I was trying to help her and keep the other two occupied.  The doctor came in, asked questions about Fischer, told me his height and weight again, said they looked great.  Then she said, "Let me check something on your car seat here." (as I had it sitting next to the exam table).  "Oh" she said, lifting the seat to the exam table, "Fischer is actually too long for this car seat.  He is 27.5" and the max height is 26"."  OK...where were we.  Oh yes, our other two didn't move to a rear facing car seat until about 9 months...Fischer is 7 months.   Grow Fischer Grow! :)

Our Mover

Fischer is such a mover, more so than the other two kids.  He gets up on his knees occasionally and rocks.  And he scoots his body.  We love our little Fischer boy!

New Cups and Easter Baskets

Carter and Anja have enjoyed the Disney Store Outlet.  They always have great finds.  A month ago I bought new cups for the kids and picked these out.  Carter got a 101 Dalmations and Anja got Minnie Mouse.  They also have replen straws in the store.  Fantastic!
Easter is almost here, so Clinton thought--lets put up Easter Decorations.  He went to the storage shed, pulled the tote that had Easter on the tag (along with other holidays), opened it in front of the kids, and only found the Easter Baskets.  Yup...no Easter decorations.  But thankfully, Gram and Grandpa had sent some fun things to hang on the window and other random items.  So to celebrate the discovery of the Easter baskets...they even had plastic eggs inside of them...Carter and Anja drank milk out of the disney cups and put the baskets on their heads.  What a great idea! :)

A Conversation

While Carter, Anja, and Ari (our friend) were sitting on the recliner yesterday, Carter said, "Opa calls Anja Little Petunia." "PETUNIA" Ari replied.  Without hesitation Carter continued, "and Opa calls me C-Boy."  Ari's responded, "OPA?!?"
I love listening to children talk to each other.  It is just so cute!
